Malkara (old pers Name: Malgara ) is a city in Turkey, on the main road from Tekirdag to Keşan. It counts 27,997 inhabitants (2008 ) and lies in the historical region of Eastern Thrace. Malkara belongs to the province of Tekirdağ.

Malkara is located in the rural center of Thrace. The landscape is partially wooded and hilly. It is well suited for hiking. The main products are cheese and wheat.

History
