Corona is a city in Lincoln County in the U.S. state of New Mexico in the United States with 165 inhabitants (as of 2000).

Geography

The city is located on U.S. Highway 54 in the north of the county, near the geographic center of New Mexico and has a total area of 2.6 km ² without significant water surface.

Demographic data

According to the census of 2000, there were 165 people in 81 households, and 46 families. The population density was 62.3 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 73.33 % White, 3.64 % Native American, 18.18% from other races.

Of the 81 households out of which 23.50% have children under the age of 18 living with them. 44.40 % were married couples living together, 8.60 % had a female householder with no husband, and 43.20 % were non-families, 37.00 % of all households are made and 14.80% had someone living alone at the age of 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.40 and the average family size was 2.61 persons.

In relation to the entire town the population was spread out with 20.60 % under the age of 18, 6.10 % from 18 to 24, 23.00% from 25 to 44 years, 30.30 % between 45 and 64 years and 20.00% were 65 years old or older. The average age was 46 years. For every 100 females there were 70.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 74.7 men statistically.

The median income for a household was $ 28,594, and the median income for a family was $ 33,438. Males have a median income of $ 22,386, women $ 14,375. The per capita income was $ 34,987. 6.20 % of families and 9.50 % of the population were below the poverty line.
