CoRoT-1 b

CoRoT- 1b, CoRoT- Exo -1 formerly called b, is an extrasolar planet that accompanies the star CoRoT -1 and is classified as a hot Jupiter. Due to its high mass is assumed that there is a gas giant. The planet orbits its parent star every 1.5 days at a distance of about 0.03 astronomical units and has a mass of about 1.3 MJ.

Unlike the majority of exoplanets it has been discovered using the transit method. He is the first exoplanet that was discovered with the help of the French COROT space telescope.
