Corsair Marine

Corsair Marine International is a shipyard for trimarans.

History

Corsair Marine was founded in 1984 in the U.S. Chula Vista near San Diego in California. CEO was John T. Walton, son of Sam Walton, the founder of the department store chain Wal-Mart. Vice President and designer was the Australian Ian Farrier. Farrier had in 1975 patented a folding system for trimarans. Farrier designed and built the first product of the company, the Corsair F- 27, which was sailed on May 28, 1985 for the first time. Farrier working for Corsair to 1991.

John Walton in 1994 sold the company to Paul Koch, who was the Australian dealer for Corsair Marine at the time. Koch was also the owner of the Australian shipyard Ostac, and had worked with Farrier. Farrier cook brought back into the company. Farrier working the next 6 years for Corsair Marine. As Farrier in 2000, left the company to found Farrier Marine, bought Corsair Marine all rights to Farriers F-24, F -28 and F -31 boats. At this point, trademarks and nautical emblems of Farriers "F- " to Corsairs "C " has been changed, and the boats were, C28 and C31 renamed C24.

Since 2006 there are the company's headquarters and production facility in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. The company was acquired by the Australian shipyard Seawind Catamarans in October 2010.

Since the establishment of Corsair Marine has sold over 1700 trimarans. The company relies on a worldwide network of dealers in six locations in the United States and 19 other selling the boats and wait.

Model range

The model range currently includes boats in different configurations, in lengths of 24, 28, 31 and 37 feet.
