Costas Kondylis

Constantine Andrew Kondylis ( born April 17, 1940 in Bujumbura, Burundi, Belgian Congo ) is an American architect.

Life

Constantine Andrew Kondylis was born as a son of Greek parents in Africa. His father was an entrepreneur who owned several coffee plantations and shops. At the age of 13 years, the family moved back to Greece. With 17 years Kondylis originally wanted to study automotive design, studied from 1959 but architecture at the University of Geneva. After graduating, he lived until 1967 in Switzerland and toured Europe. From 1967 to 1969 he studied urban planning at Columbia University in New York City. Until 1979 he worked at Davis Brody & Associates as an architect and was most recently Director of Housing and Urban Design. While triggered by the crisis, he worked as many other architects in Iran. From 1980 to 1989 he was a senior partner at Philip Birnbaum & Associates, before he founded his first own architectural firm Costas Kondylis & Associates with.

2009, his company, which changed its name already under the name Costas Kondylis and Partners, LLP, was dissolved. This was preceded by the abandonment of the architects and senior partners Alan Goldstein, Steven Hill and David West from the company. For the separation of different reasons were given. Kondylis called the market situation, where the customers the company would indeed remained true, but the order volume is decreased. Then he founded with Kondylis design his new company. By 2011 Kondylis had 86 buildings constructed. Among the most famous buildings include the Silver Towers, the Barclay Tower, Trump International Hotel and Tower and the Trump World Tower.
