The Cottica ( Sranan Tongo: Kotika - liba; liba = "river" ) is a river in the north of Suriname, in the districts Marowijne and Commewijne.

It rises in the hills south of the small town Moengo. In Moengo the top Cottica takes on the Patamaccakreek and Ricanaukreek. Here crossing a bridge the so-called east- west connection to the river. Northward flowing takes the Cottica on the Coermotibo which forms the left side of the barrel Marowijne the Wanekreek, between the basins of the Cottica and Marowijne a bifurcation ( flow bifurcation ). This bifurcation is navigable by small boats and is also used for timber floating. In the young coastal area, upstream of the Marrondorf Tamarin, the Cottica bends to the west. He has previously probably reached the Atlantic here. To the west is the river flowing below the Marron village Wanhatti by the Orange River and the Atlantic Ocean in conjunction with Motkreek. On the border of the district Commewijne the Cottica takes on the left tributary Pericakreek. After another 20 km through the district Commewijne the Cottica opens above the plantation Alliance in the Commewijne.

The river basin is 2,900 km ².
