Coupvray

Coupvray is a commune with 2656 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Seine- et- Marne and is located in the region of Île -de -France east of Paris. The inhabitants of Coupvray hot in French Cupressiens.

Geography

The village lies on the banks of the Marne Coupvray channel from Meaux to Chalifert. Built in the Second Empire to the water supply of Paris Aqueduct de la Dhuis through the boundaries of the municipality.

Personalities

The place is known nationally as the birthplace of Louis Braille (1809-1852) and houses a museum of Braille.
