Cove lighting

Cove luminaires are lamps that are installed in the curved transition between wall and ceiling ( haunch ). They are an item of interior design by light ( interior design ).

The diffuse light cove lighting can be used as indirect illumination and achieves the effect, lighten the ceiling edges of a room. The body of certain cove luminaires itself forms the vault ( haunch ). Many of the commercial cove luminaires are fitted with tubular fluorescent lamps to give light evenly.

Light effects

The light from cove luminaires is largely free of shadow, but light -control measures by prisms or reflectors must be made, since otherwise the light can blind due to the reflection due to high luminances close to the ceiling or ceiling area. Disturbing the visible light-dark transitions in the socket portion of the lamp can be with non-overlapping light strips.
