The Pink Hook lily ( Crinum bulbispermum ) is a species of the genus hook lily ( Crinum ) in the family of the Amaryllis family ( Amaryllidaceae ).

Features

The Pink Hook lily is a perennial bulbous plant, which reaches stature heights of 50 to 90 centimeters. The leaves are bluish green, rinnig, not in the middle does not thicken, wavy, cartilaginous at the edge and serrated. They measure 60 to 90 × 5 to 11 centimeters. The bulb has a diameter of 7.5 to 13 centimeters. 6-12 of fragrant flowers form an umbel. The flower stems have a length from 4.5 to 9 inches. The Perigonröhre is 7.5 to 10 inches long, narrow, green and curved, the lobes are funnel-shaped, white in color with pink stripes or red with dark red stripes and measure 7.5 to 13 × 2 to 4 inches.

Bloom time is from July to August.

Occurrence

The Pink Lily hook comes in South Africa from the Cape Province to the Transvaal to river and stream banks and in wet depressions on sand and black loam.

Use

The Pink Lily hook is rarely used as an ornamental plant. It is in culture at least since 1752.
