Crisóstomo Henríquez

Chrysostom Henriquez (* 1594 in Madrid, † October 23, 1632 in Leuven ) was a Cistercian historian. He has looked as hagiographer with the Saints of the Order.

From an aristocratic family, he became in 1608 the convent Huerta and studied at several places in Galicia. In 1619 he published his first hagiographisches Compendium. Other works were usually commentaries and treatises on cisterciensisches religious law. From 1620 he lived in the Netherlands. The University of Leuven was to be the site of action until his death. He was vicar general of the Cistercians in Ireland and Grand Master of the Cistercian Order of Knights of Calatrava.
