Cristiane Rozeira de Souza Silva, short Cristiane (born 15 May 1985 in Osasco, São Paulo) is a Brazilian football player. She currently plays for the FK Rossijanka.

Career

Cristiane entered 1995 in a football school first played at local clubs São Bernardo and Atlético Juventus in São Paulo. She made her debut at the age of 15 years for the U-19 selection of Brazil, and participated in both the U-19 World Cup in Canada in 2002, and at the U-19 World Cup in Thailand in 2004; in both tournaments Brazil took fourth place respectively. During the successful title defense in Brazil in the South American Championship 2003, she was again off the bench and scored one goal.

Her international breakthrough came Cristiane during the Olympic football tournament in Athens in 2004, when they defeated the United States only in the finale with the Seleção and celebrated the largest ever international success in Brazil with the Olympic silver medal. With five goals as personal success they recorded this winning the top scorer.

During the winter break 2004/ 05 Cristiane joined Atlético Juventus to the German Bundesliga 1 FFC Turbine Potsdam and became the first Brazilian in the Bundesliga. In the season 2005/ 06 she was with Potsdam German champion and Cup winner, but she could never prevail in the club correctly. In the following season, she moved to VfL Wolfsburg and shot in the season 2006/ 07 a total of seven goals, but they also had there problems find their way to the play in Germany. In the summer of 2007, she did not renew her contract in Wolfsburg and initially returned to Brazil to support the newly created women there Cup competition.

Cristiane won at the South American Championship in 2006 with 12 goals, the top scorer, even if Brazil, which traveled all only with a weakened team, after four consecutive titles for the first time only took second place behind Argentina. In 2007, she helped Brazil with eight goals for the gold medal at the Pan American Games on home soil. The Seleção defeated in the final of the U -20 team of the United States before 68,000 fans at the Estádio do Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro.

During the 2007 World Cup Cristiane could do again attracted attention and was elected the third-best player of the tournament. She scored five goals and was second best scorer of her team in addition to their strike partner, the World Player Marta. Brazil reached for the first time the final of the Women's World Cup, but it lost to the German selection. In the election for FIFA World Player of the Year 2007 Cristiane finished in third place.

In February 2008, Cristiane signed a five-month contract with the Swedish first division club Linköpings FC. In their 14 league games for the club they scored six goals. At the 2008 Olympics in Beijing she won again in 2004 after the silver medal. After a semi-final victory against the reigning world champions Germany, defeated Brazil as early as 2004 in Athens in the final the USA. Cristiane was top scorer with five goals.

After the Olympics, Cristiane moved back to Brazil and played for Corinthians in São Paulo. After they had expressed interest in playing in the professional league newly formed Women's Professional Soccer in the United States, the rights went with her to enter into negotiations in the course of the draft to the club Chicago Red Stars. On February 27, 2009 Cristiane signed a contract with the Chicagoern. However, in the same year, she moved back to Brazil to Santos FC.

Cristiane represented the Brazilian national football team of women in the Football World Cup 2011 Women in Germany for the third time. There they shot a total of two goals and came with her team to the quarter-finals. After the World Cup, she moved to the Russian champions FK Rossijanka. 2013 they moved to their home to AD Centro Olimpico.
