Cristina Vărzaru

Cristina Georgiana Vărzaru ( born December 5, 1979 in Corabia, Olt County ) is a Romanian handball player.

Vărzaru played in Romania Corabia CSS, CS Oltchim Ramnicu Valcea and Rapid Bucharest. The winger won a total of four times the Romanian championship with Oltchim Valcea (1999, 2000 and 2002 ) and Rapid ( 2003). In 2005, the left-hander joined the Danish top club Viborg HK. With Viborg she won in 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010 the championship, and in 2006, 2007 and 2008 Danish Cup competition. International won Vărzaru with the VKM in 2006, 2009 and 2010, the EHF Champions League. In the Champions League 2009/10 it was 101 hits top scorer of the competition. In the summer of 2012, she joined the Romanian club CSM Bucureşti.

Vărzaru was several years in the squad of the Romanian national team. Her biggest success with the Romanian selection was the World Championship 2005. Moreover, they took in 2000 with Romania at the Olympic games.

Vărzaru previously belonged to the squad of the Romanian junior national team, with whom she won the 1998 European Championship and 1999 World Cup.
