Crotophaginae
Guirakuckuck ( Guira guira )
The Made Cuckoos ( Crotophaginae ) are a subfamily of the family of cuckoos. All species live in America.
Features
Made cuckoos live together in groups and are not brood parasites. They defend a common territory and raise their young in communal nests large group. In contrast to all other species of cuckoo cuckoos have the grub only eight instead of ten feathers.
System
The subfamily includes two genera and four species. The German name followed by Avibase.

The Made cuckoos were conducted together with the Hoatzin by Sibley and Ahlquist as own family under the name Crotophagidae. This classification was refuted by genetic studies.
