Cruiserweight (Band)

Cruiserweight is an indie rock band that has been founded in 1999 in Austin, Texas.

Band History

The band was founded by Yogi and Urny, a short time later her sister Stella was added as a singer, then another friend, Dave Hawkins, as a bass player. In 2000 appeared the first self-produced EP First Day of School.

2001 came out the second EP This Will Undoubtedly Come Out Wrong with which they have found to their style. From this EP they sold self-distributed 12,000 pieces and afterwards went with bands like Midtown, New Found Glory, Jewel and the B -52's on tour.

The label Doghouse Records took them under contract with them and produced the album Sweet Weaponry. The album was released in 2005 in the U.S. and 2006 in Germany.
