Crystal Fighters

The Crystal Fighters are an English- Basque Electronic band that is based in London.

Band History

The 2007 Basque Navarre formed band performed with pianist Jools Holland on some festivals and in 2010 was with Foals on tour. The following year she attended on a concert tour of Europe cities such as Brussels, Oslo, Paris, Stockholm and Berlin. Their debut album, Star of Love, which was released on 4 October 2010, the British Sebastian, Gilbert and Graham was added to a London studio with Laure and Mimi, two singers with Basque roots. Gilbert said in an interview that he saw the album as a " statement against the cultural homogenization of Europe." Previously, they were mainly known in the Internet by remixes from bands like La Roux, Buraka Som Sistema, MGMT and MIT.

Music style

The style of their music, the band describes as "fast dance music with instruments from the Basque Country, synthesizers and vocals " by deploying about Txalapartas or the Basque beak flute Txistu and mix them with elements of techno and the Low Fidelity. The Süddeutsche Zeitung described their music as "a strange - nice mix of Tribalpop and Electro" one of the 2011 " hyped bands of the indie scene ".

As a significant impact of their music called the group Bakar, the late grandfather of a band member, the called " Crystal Fighters " worked on the manuscript of an opera, after which they named themselves as well.
