CTV News Channel (Canada)

CTV News Channel is a Canadian English-language news channel. The station is operated by Bell Media and is headquartered in Toronto, Ontario. Around and around the clock current national and international messages are sent.

History

In September 1996, CTV Television Network Ltd. received. (a division of CTV) obtain a broadcasting license from the Canadian Authority Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission ( CRTC ) for CTV N1 to broadcast a national English-language television station, the news, weather and sports news and other consumer information.

The station began broadcasting on October 17, 1997 CTV News 1 Initially, every 15 minutes, messages were sent, provided that no major events arrived. A few months after its launch, each shipment was moderated live and also addresses current events that were sent as breaking news. 1999, the station was renamed CTV Newsnet after the sister station CTV Sportsnet had began broadcasting. On 26 May 2009, the station was renamed again in CTV News Channel.

The transmitter operates in Canada studios in Calgary, Halifax ( Nova Scotia ), Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver and Winnipeg, as well as internationally in China, London, Washington DC, Los Angeles and New Delhi. Also shown is the CTV Middle East Bureau and the CTV News Parliamentary Bureau.
