Cubatão is an industrial city in the Brazilian state of São Paulo. Cubatão is part of the metropolitan region of Baixada Santista to the nearly 15 km south-east located port city of Santos. The distance to the state capital São Paulo is around 50 km. The community has about 127 702 inhabitants (2008 ) in an area of 142 km ², which corresponds to a population density of 845 persons per square kilometer.

The city hosts such as steel and chemical industries, and oil refineries. Until the 1980s, Cubatão has earned the reputation as one of the most industrially polluted cities in the world.
