Cultural Bolshevism

Cultural Bolshevism is a political slogan that was used in a pejorative sense for artists, art, architecture and science that have been rejected in accordance with the ideas of National Socialism as too progressive and left-wing. It is derived from the name of Bolshevism for the communist doctrine of a Russian stamp.

The term often used by the Nazi propaganda (often " Baubolschewismus " or " Art Bolshevism " ) was coined by the Bernese architect Alexander von Senger, who thus wanted to stigmatize originally modern architectural ideas that have their roots in Moscow. Until 1933 was the buzzword of the vocabulary of all the bourgeois parties and described cultural decline in the broadest sense (see also: cultural pessimism ). Then it came to mean the "struggle against destructive ... Different type of culture."
