Cüneyt Arkın

Cuneyt Arkın ( civil Fahrettin Cüreklibatır; born September 8, 1937 in Karaçay, Alpu district in the province of Eskişehir, Turkey) is a Turkish actor, screenwriter, film director and producer.

Life

Arkin was born the son of emigrants of the Crimea in the village near the Anatolian city of Eskişehir Karaçay, where he attended elementary school. The high school he graduated from Eskişehir. Then studied Arkin in Istanbul medicine. After successful completion in 1961, he returned to Eskişehir and practiced there as a doctor.

In 1968, the offer to play in a movie in the role of a doctor. He became known in the following years through the personification of heroes like Kara Murat, Malkocoglu, Seyyid Battal Ghazi and Köroğlu. He played almost always all physically challenging and interspersed with several martial arts scenes itself in the Battal Gazi Quadrilogie Cuneyt Arkın fights in the role of the legendary Battal Gazi as Umayyade against the Crusaders. He also appeared in productions with foreign directors and actors of his time, among other things, Bolo Yeung.

For the marketing abroad you renamed it in Steve Arkin and George Arkin. Some of his titles as Lionman or Kara Murat are also available in a German version. In Germany and other parts of northern Europe Arkın first became known when he ( The Man Who Saves the World ) turned the first Turkish sci-fi strip Dünyayı Kurtaran Adam.

Arkin is married for the third time, again with Betül Işıl, who starred in several films alongside him.
