Cuvier (crater)

Cuvier is an impact crater in the southern lunar front side, east of the crater Maginus and southeast of Licetus. The rim is eroded, the interior largely flat.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the French naturalist Georges Cuvier.
