Maginus (crater)

Maginus is an old lunar crater in the southern highlands of the Moon front southeast of the famous Tycho crater. The outer crater rim is heavily eroded with overlays that come by later impacts. The inner surface is relatively flat.

The crater was in 1935 officially named by the IAU by the Italian mathematician and astronomer Giovanni Antonio Magini.
