Cyclohexanone oxime is a cyclic chemical compound that is one of the oximes.
Production and representation
Cyclohexanone oxime can be obtained from cyclohexanone and hydroxylamine.
Use
This compound is one of the few technically important oximes. It is an important intermediate in the production of ε -caprolactam. The reaction is carried out by Beckmann rearrangement with the aid of concentrated sulfuric acid. For this ( and Perlon polyamide 6 called ) is then obtained by polymerization of nylon.
