The Cycloneuralia are a senior -less taxon in which five tribes wormlike, invertebrates are combined, the nematodes ( Nematoda ) and the strings worms ( Nematomorpha ) and Priapswürmer ( Priapulida ), Corset animals ( Loricifera ) and Hakenrüssler ( Kinorhyncha ).
Features
The Cycloneuralia have as a common feature a characteristic structure of the brain, which annularly surrounds the pharynx or other areas of the anterior digestive tract. It shows a typical structure of the somata of brain cells, front and rear, and a central annulus ( Neuropili ). From the belly side ( ventral ) area of the brain ring are shown a single or a paired nerve cord.
