Cyminology

Cyminology is a Berlin jazz quartet with German, Indian and Persian roots and was founded in 2002. In music, the quartet merges chamber music, contemporary jazz with lyrics Persian poets such as Hafez, Rumi or Khayyam and his own texts. Since its inception Cyminology attended numerous appearances at clubs and festivals at home and abroad and has published several CDs.

The Music

The quartet Cyminology combines the sound worlds of East and West. Elements of oriental music experience a synthesis with facets of jazz and many pictures to seal old Persian master. New musical forms of world music and the harmonization of Eastern and Western culture, and successful coexistence of classical elements, jazz phrasing and oriental meters, causing a musical alloy beyond conventional listening habits.
