CYNE

Cyne (pronounced "sign", an acronym for " Cultivating Your New Experience" ) is a native of Gainesville, Florida alternative hip- hop group. It consists of rappers Akin ( Akin Yai ) and Cise Star (Clyde Graham ) and producers Speck ( Michael Gersten ) and Enoch (David Newell ). Their music has various influences of Neo Soul, Trip Hop on to traditional African music. The contents of Akin and Cise Stars metaphorical texts are often politically and socially critical, also influenced pan-African and religiously by their respective origin.

The two MCs got to know each other in high school, after Akin had moved to Gainesville with his parents from the African country of Benin. Together they founded the group in 2001 Phalanx and made acquaintance with the producers Speck and Enoch, who worked together since 1997. Together they released several singles and records in 2003 with their debut album Time Being. After her second plant evolution Fight they performed at music festivals and tours among other things with The Roots, KRS -One, El -P and Talib Kweli.
