Cyprian Bhekuzulu kaSolomon

Cyprian Bhekuzulu ka Solomon ( * August 4, 1924 in Mahlabatini, Zululand, † September 17, 1968 in Nongoma ), also known under the name Cyprian Bhekuzulu ka Phumuzuzulu, was a king of the Zulu.

Bhekuzulu was the fourth son of Solomon ka Dinuzulu. He was from 1948 to 1968 supreme chief of the Zulu and carried the title of king, who brought since the reign of Dinuzulu no political rights more with it, ceremoniously. Under pressure from the apartheid state Bhekuzulu gave his consent to the establishment of regional authorities for the support of the Zulu; de facto, these were to administrative and supervisory authorities. A close aide of the king was Mangosuthu Buthelezi.
