Cyrus William Beales

Cyrus William Beales (* December 16, 1877 in York Springs, Adams County, Pennsylvania, † November 14, 1927 in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania ) was an American politician. Between 1915 and 1917 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Cyrus Beales attended the public schools of his home. After the death of his father he took over the farm at an early age of 13 years. Then he studied until 1899 at Ohio Northern University pharmacy. He then worked as a pharmacist in York Springs. In 1903 he moved to Gettysburg, where he worked as an expert witness in Adams County. Between 1904 and 1905 he was also employed at the local district administration. In the following years, he worked in several industries. These still owned the pharmacy business and the banking industry, crafts and especially the printing trade. Between 1910 and 1914 he was also postmaster at Gettysburg. Politically, he joined the Republican Party.

In the congressional elections of 1914, Beales was in the 20th electoral district of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he succeeded the Democrat Andrew R. Brodbeck on March 4, 1915. Since he resigned in 1916 to further candidacy, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until March 3, 1917. Between 1917 and 1921, Cyrus Beales was a member of the Senate of Pennsylvania. He then worked in Gettysburg in the pharmacy business. He is also passed on 14 November 1927.
