Cystopteris dickieana

The Runzelsporige Blasenfarn ( Cystopteris dickieana ) is a rarely occurring in Central Europe, representatives of the Wimperfarngewächse ( Woodsiaceae ). He is by George Dickie (1812-1882), professor of natural history in Belfast and Professor of Botany in Aberdeen, named.

Features

The Runzelsporige Blasenfarn reaches stature heights of 10 to 45 centimeters. The leaflets are overlapping to a maximum fiederspaltig. The pinnules are pointed or ovate. The last vein branches run into the Fiederspitzen or Fiederbuchten. The spores are irregularly wrinkled or smooth - leistig - grained.

The chromosome numbers are 4n = 168, 6n = 252

Dissemination

The Runzelsporige Blasenfarn in Central Europe rare to very rare. The species is known from Baden- Württemberg, Bavaria, Rhineland -Palatinate, Salzburg ( possibly extinct), Switzerland and South Tyrol.

System

The position and value of the taxon is in discussion. Frequently Cystopteris dickieana is a subspecies of the Fragile Blasenfarns than Cystopteris fragilis subsp. dickieana out. It might be a mutant of Cystopteris fragilis without a separate area and without an independent ecology here, however.
