Cytidine diphosphate (CDP ) is a nucleotide, a ribonucleotide accurate. There is a pyrophosphoric acid ester of the nucleoside cytidine. Cytidine diphosphate consists of the pyrophosphate group, the pentose sugar ribose, and the nucleobase cytosine.

It plays, together with CDP-choline ( cytidine diphosphate choline ) in Phosphatidsynthese (for example, the biosynthesis of lecithin) and in the biosynthesis of 2'- deoxycytidine 5'-diphosphate ( dCDP ) play a role.
