The band Czerwone Gitary or Red Guitar is one of the most popular bands of Polish music history and is known as the Polish Beatles.

History

The Red Guitars were founded on 3rd January, 1965 by Henryk Zomerski and Jerzy Kossela in Gdańsk. Together with Bernard Dornowski, Krzysztof Jerzy Skrzypczyk Klenczon and the band went a few months later under the slogan We play and sing the loudest in Poland on their first major tour in Germany.

Was the first new appointment as early as December 1965. Zomerski left the band shortly after the foundation and was replaced by Seweryn Krajewski which most titles the group wrote in subsequent years.

At Midem, the world 's largest music fair, they got together in 1968 with the Beatles a prize for the best-selling records in Poland. This award was the breakthrough in the international music business. In the GDR alone they sold in the 1970s and 80s over a million records. Eight years later they were again in an international arena; In 1977 she won the Grand Prix de Intervision Sopot Never Spoczniemy ( We move on ) 2nd prize.

Since 2000, toured the Red Guitar among others to Poland, the USA, in the Moscow Kremlin and to Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Artur Chyb plays since 2013 as a guitarist and singer in the band. He is said to be the successor to Jerzy Kossela.
