Dabbs Greer

Robert William " Dabbs " Greer ( born April 2, 1917 in Fairview, Missouri, † April 28, 2007 in Pasadena, California ) was an American actor.

Life

Greer was born in 1917 as the son of a pharmacist and a language teacher. Between 1943 and 1951 he taught the subject at a drama theater school, which belonged to the Pasadena Playhouse in California. By the early 1950s, Greer spurred his acting career and appeared in many films and television series, which he became one of the most sought-after character actors in Hollywood. In the 1952-1958 running series Adventures of Superman, he was in the first episode, the first person who was rescued by the superheroes.

His greatest successes came with the series Gunsmoke (as Wilbur Jonas ), Little House ( as Reverend Robert Alden ) and Picket Fences - Tatort garden fence ( as Reverend Henry Novotny ).
