Daeva

Daevas ( Avestan ) were, in the opinion of Zoroaster is not the sinister beings that embody them in the younger Avesta; for religious founder the Daevas are not gods which are rejected because these between truth ( asha ) and lie ( druj ) can not distinguish.

In the younger Avesta and in the Zoroastrian tradition, and later also in the Shahnameh, the Daevas are ominous - for the most part demonic - nature, which act as antagonists of Yazatas ( " Venerable ").

( Angra Mainyu Avestan ) placed as evil -minded servants of Ahriman - In the copywriters of the Zoroastrian tradition, particularly in Bundahischn, the Horde of the Daevas - Middle Persian dews. Seven of these countless representations of every conceivable act as nausea Erzdämonen and as a direct counterparty to the seven Amesha Spentas.

The concept as well as ten of the Zoroastrian Daeva found as New Persian divs in the Shahnameh Iranian mythology again. They correspond to the Armenian Devs.
