Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering

Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering ( DSME ) is a South Korean company with headquarters in Seoul.

The company is in the shipbuilding and is one of the world 's largest shipyards. DSME was a part of the conglomerate Daewoo, from which it was separated as an independent company in 1999. In February 2012, the company was awarded a major contract to build four convoy ships for the Royal Navy.

DSME built, among others, the container ships in the American - New - York -Class, the Triple-E class, the Dublin Express class and the Toronto - Express class. Likewise DSME built the container ship CMA CGM Vela, the car transporter Don Carlos and the oil tanker Sirius Star and Limburg.

DSME has awarded the contract for the first LPG FPSO.

2009 took over DSME German-American wind turbine manufacturer DeWind.

DeWind

The wind turbine manufacturer DeWind was founded in 1995 in Lübeck ( Germany ). 2007, the Company was informed by Composite Technology Corp.. Bought (Texas ). 2009, the company was taken over by Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering ( DSME ). To date, over 900 systems have been installed with a total capacity of over 1600 MW.
