Dajue Temple

The Dajue Temple ( Dajue大觉寺si " temple of the great enlightenment " / " Temple of Awakening " ) in Beijing's Western Hills in Beijing's Haidian District is a temple from the time the Liao Dynasty ( Khitan ).

It is known for the temple of his sources, originally it was called Qingshuiyuan清水 院- Temple of the clear water. A gingko tree there should be three hundred years old thousand years a Yulan magnolia. He was exclusively for the imperial family. Most of his Buddha statues date from the Ming Dynasty.

The Dajue temple stands on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China ( 6-303 ) since 2006.
