Dakar Region

Dakar is a region of western Senegal, it is located on the Cape Verde Peninsula, and is the westernmost point of Africa. Capital of the region is the city of Dakar, which is also the capital of Senegal. The Dakar region is 550 km ² and the smallest with about 2,550,000 inhabitants at the same time the most populated region in Senegal.

The region is divided into four administrative units: Dakar, Guédiawaye, Pikine and Rufisque.
