Dalyan is a place in southwestern Turkey ( Muğla Province ) in the district of Ortaca.

Dalyan is a well known Turkish holiday destination by the Dalyan River, which connects the Koycegiz Lake on the Dalyan Delta and the Mediterranean. It is also often visited by day trippers. Market day is Saturday.

There are numerous ancient cultural sites and natural attractions in its vicinity. These include the rock-cut tombs of the ancient city of Caunos, dating from the fourth century BC, and Roman ruins - including a theater, an agora, a Nymphaeum and numerous other buildings. The inhabitants of the ancient Caunos also took advantage of the nearby beach İztuzu as a port. In 1988, British conservationists here prevents a hotel project in order to obtain a spawning area of the loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta). The İztuzu beach is still being closely monitored in order to protect the turtles. Bathing is possible. The local waterworks system and the water treatment plant are German development projects. In the village of Dalyan, a colony settled by British and German retirees.
