Coat of arms

Prince-bishops led gemehrtes usually a personal coat of arms, which is composed of elements of the family coat of arms and the arms of the diocese. The centerpiece of Arms of Damian Hugo Philipp von Schönborn- Buchheim on the facade of the castle built by him Bruchsal contains the following three escutcheons: The (optical) left arms were quartered. In exchange you will find each in blue, a silver cross ( for the diocese Speyer ) and in red a silver castle with gate and two towers, about a golden crown (for the prince provost White Castle ). These crossing points to the longer-lasting personal union of the two offices. The right road sign showing the coat of arms of Schönborn: in a red border on three silver lace two-tailed golden lion, which is blue crowned. In the middle there is a small coat of arms with a double black paws Silver Cross, which stands for the two Landkomtureien of the Teutonic Order Alden Biesen and Marburg (see also List of coming of the Teutonic Order ). The three individual coats of arms are arranged under a princely crown. Decorated with other insignia of power the crest is surrounded by a golden version, which closes up with a cardinal's hat. Notes to the diocese of Constance missing in this view, because Damian Hugo took it over until much later.
