Dan Atherton

Daniel Simon Atherton ( born January 25, 1982 Salisbury, United Kingdom ) known as Dan Atherton, is a British professional mountain biker. Dan is successful, especially in the mountain bike disciplines of downhill, four-cross and enduro downhill mountain bike racing. At 15 he began to ride BMX and mountain bike a year later.

Career

From 2007 to 2011 he went with his siblings Gee Atherton and Rachel Atherton for the Animal Commencal International Pro Mountain Bike Race Team, which is equipped with bikes from the French manufacturer Commencal. Since 2012 he runs, his siblings and one of his old friends Marc Beaumont for the GT Factory Racing Team. His life as a professional biker and his two siblings is also shown in the short documentary " The Atherton Project" and aired on freecaster.tv.

Since the 2013 season, Dan dedicates the new discipline: Enduro, which are in the same run several races per day. The slopes vary between a few, up to 20 minutes. Due to a shoulder injury had to Atherton to retire the Enduro World Series.
