Dan Curtis

Was an American film director and film and television producer, Daniel R. Curtis, born Daniel Mayer Cherkoss called Dan († March 27, 2006 in Brentwood, California born August 12, 1928 in Bridgeport, Connecticut ).

Life

Curtis became known for the television series Dark Shadows evening, which was originally aired from 1966 to 1971 and repeated several times within the next thirty years.

Among his better-known films include The story of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde (1968 ) and Count Dracula (1973 ), in each of which Jack Palance starred in the title role, as well as The Night Stalker (from the series Kolchak: The Night Stalker was born ), Intruders, The Night Strangler, House of Dark Shadows, Night of Dark Shadows, Burnt Offerings, Trilogy of Terror, and others.

His miniseries The Winds of War on the book by Herman Wouk was nominated for four Emmy Awards. In 1988, he finally won an Emmy for his television miniseries firestorm and ashes.

Curtis' wife Norma Mae ( née Klein) died on 7 March 2006 of a heart attack at age 75, which he did not coped. They had been married since 1952 and had three daughters: Cathy (gen. Kate ), Tracy and Linda, who died before her mother. Twenty days later, Curtis himself died
