Dana White

Dana White ( born July 28, 1969 in Manchester, Connecticut ) is the current President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), a mixed martial arts organization in the USA.

Biography

Born in Manchester, White grew up in Las Vegas, Boston and Levant (Maine) on. He is an avid supporter of the Boston Red Sox, a baseball team. During an often serious youth he frequently commuted between Las Vegas and Maine. He attended two years of college in Boston; but reached no conclusion. Then he initiated a boxing program for children from poorer urban neighborhoods.

White has a professional background as an aerobics instructor. In 1992 he founded the company Dana White Enterprises, based in Las Vegas. He conducted aerobics classes at three gyms in the greater Las Vegas and began to work as a Manager of the two MMA fighters Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell.

While working as a manager told White that Semaphore Entertainment Group, which owns the UFC was at this time, was looking for a buyer for the UFC. White contacted Lorenzo Fertitta, a friend from his youth who was a director of the station casions, and a former commissioner of the Nevada State Athletic Commission was. Within a month, Lorenzo Fertitta bought and his older brother Frank, the UFC and put a White as its president. At the time White has a share of 10 % of Zuffa LLC, a company which was established to own and manage the UFC.

Private life

White and his wife Anne have two sons and a daughter.
