Dancing Ledge

Dancing Ledge is Langton Matravers on the Isle of Purbeck. It is located about two kilometers southwest of Swanage and seven kilometers southeast of Corfe Castle, in the county of Dorset, on the south coast of England.

Dancing Ledge is part of the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site.

On Dancing Ledge was once a quarry. The area of ​​the Isle of Purbeck has a long history as a quarry, especially along the cliffs to the south. The quarries were suppliers of Purbeck stone and Purbeck marble. Because the rocks in the shallow water was the beginning of the 20th century, a large swimming pool cavity has been blasted into the rock, so that school children could swim there safely.
