Daniel Clasen

Daniel Clasen ( born May 1, 1622 Lüneburg, † November 20, 1678 in Helmstedt ) was a German legal scholar.

Life

Clasen was the son of a businessman. He attended St John's School in Lüneburg, changed because of the plague in 1639 on the Andreas School to Braunschweig in 1640 and returned back to Lüneburg. In the same year he entered the University of Helmstedt, where he studied philosophy and law. In 1646 he was there Magister, vice-principal in 1647 in Magdeburg, on September 28, 1648 Rector, in 1660 Professor of Ethics and Policy at the Knight Academy Lüneburg, 1661 Doctor of Laws in Helmstedt and in 1669 professor.
