Daniel Granville West, Baron Granville-West

Daniel Granville West, Baron Granville -West, ( born March 17, 1904 in Newport, † September 23, 1984 in Pontypool ) was a British Labour Party politician.

He was born in Born in Newport. West studied law at the University College of Wales. He worked as a notary. From 1939 to 1947 he was member of the Council in the District Assembly of Monmouthshire. During the Second World War he was in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.

In the by-election in 1946, he was elected for the constituency of Pontypool in the British House of Commons and in 1950 was Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Home Secretary James Chuter Ede.

In 1958 he was appointed as Baron Granville - West as one of the first after the entry into force of the Life peerages Act 1958 Life Peer. His successor in the House was Leo Abse. He died at the age of 80 years in Pontypool.
