Daniel Henriksson

Daniel Henriksson ( born September 4, 1978 in Övertorneå ) is a retired Swedish professional ice hockey goaltender and current coach.

Career

Daniel Henriksson began his career as a hockey player at Luleå HF, for the first team, he made ​​his professional debut in the 1996/97 season. He participated with his team at the football operation of the Elitserien, as well as at the European Hockey League. In his rookie year, the goalkeeper with his team reached the finals at the Swedish Championship, where he lost to Färjestad BK. In the time at Luleå also he gained playing experience in the second division bottom IK and Piteå HC - first in Division 1, and then in the newly founded HockeyAllsvenskan.

In summer 2004, Henriksson joined Färjestads BK, with whom he again was runner-up in the 2004/05 season before he with his new club in his career won the Swedish Championship for the first time in the following season. In the 2007 /08 season, the national team was in Europe at HK Sibir Novosibirsk in the Russian Super League and the EC Red Bull Salzburg of the Austrian Hockey League contract. Since 2010, Henriksson has worked as a goalkeeping coach at his hometown club Luleå HF.
