Daniel Swern

Daniel Swern (* 1916, † December 5, 1982 in Philadelphia ) was an American chemist and discoverer of the eponymous Swern oxidation.

A graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, works on his doctorate there in 1940 for the Ministry of Agriculture of the United States, where he developed successful method of polyvinyl chloride coating and in 1955 awarded the Distinguished Service Award of the Authority.
