Danilo Pudgar

Danilo Pudgar ( May 3, 1952 in Črna na Koroškem ) is a former Yugoslavian ski jumper.

Career

Pudgar began his international career with the launch at the Four Hills Tournament 1971/72. After he reached only mixed results in the midfield in Innsbruck, Garmisch -Partenkirchen and Oberstdorf, he landed on the Paul Ausserleitner hill in Bischofshofen in 14th place, reaching the highest individual score of his career. In the overall standings, he reached rank 34 also his best finish.

At the Olympic Winter Games in 1972 in Sapporo Pudgar landed on the normal hill on the 27th place. From the large hill he could increase considerably, reaching eighth place. A little later Pudgar was named Slovenian Sportsman of the Year.

At the Four Hills Tournament 1972/73 Pudgar once again denied all jumping but could not build on the success of the previous season and was ranked 49 overall. In his last two tours in 1973/74 and 1974/75 he tried again to increase. However, he failed to do so, that in 1975 he his active ski jumping career ended.

Pudgars older brother Drago was also active internationally as a ski jumper.
