Dankwart Danckwerts

Dankwart Danckwerts ( born March 14, 1933, Hamburg, † 11 May 2012) was a German professor of sociology and social work. He is considered one of the most innovative and versatile Marxist sociologists in Germany.

After passing the test trading agents and studied sociology and economics in Hamburg and from 1960 in Münster, he received his doctorate in 1964 there at Helmut Schelsky Dr. sc pol.

After fieldwork in Chile, he worked as a professor of sociology, even after his retirement in 1999 at the University of Duisburg, particularly in the transport sociology field.
