DanutÄ— BudreikaitÄ—

Danutė Budreikaitė ( born May 16, 1953 in Vilnius) is a Lithuanian politician and economist. Budreikaitė is a member of the European Parliament for the party Darbo partija and Deputy Chairman of the Development Committee since 2004.

Budreikaitė studied 1972-1978 Economics at Vilnius University and studied for their doctorates from 1981 to 1986 at the Moscow Central Institute for Industrial Mathematics. Budreikaitė was from 1977 to 1980 and from 1987 to 1997 Senior researcher at the Economics Institute of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences and clipboard in 1995 and 1998, project manager at the Agency for Enterprise Restructuring " Consulta ". In connection she worked between 1998 and 1999 in the EU's Transform Programme, where she graduated as a lecturer in European integration. In addition Budreikaitė worked between 1998 and 2003 as a lecturer and Head of Department of the Department of Economic Integration in the European Union Affairs Committee of the Lithuanian Government. She was also from 2001 to 2004 Lecturer in European economic integration at the University of Vilnius. Budreikaitė 2004 was a member of the Council of the Labour Party and adviser to the Budget and Finance Committee in the administration of the Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania.
