Dare Foods

Dare Foods Ltd.. is a Canadian food company headquartered in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. The company produces and sells a variety of foods throughout North America and exported these in a further 25 countries. It has seven manufacturing facilities in Canada and the United States.

History

1892 Charles H. Doerr began with the production and sale of its own baked goods in a shop in Kitchener. In 1919 he founded the company C. H. Doerr Company, which sold its goods within Ontario. In 1954, the company introduced the first resealable pack bags, so the baked goods could last longer. In 1956, the company began expanding into the United States. In 1983 the company introduced new products. In 1989 the company opened a new production facility in Milton. Due to strong demand and growth in the U.S. in 1994, the company opened a new production facility in South Carolina. In 1999, Dare Foods, the U.S. company Bremner Biscuit Company of Denver, Colorado. In 2003, the company introduced nut -free products for consumers with a nut allergy.
