Darius Rafat

Darius Rafat Justin (born 13 December 1977) is a Canadian musician, songwriter, composer, producer, bandleader and music manager. He works internationally as a composer and music producer for TV shows, commercials, soundtracks and film.

Life

His mother is a Canadian jazz singer Judy Rafat, who was among others, Dizzy Gillespie, Dave Brubeck and Wynton Marsalis on tour. As a child he began to play piano and drums, and composed his first pieces with five. His stage debut came with ten as a Michael Jackson impersonator in a school performance. In New York, he co-produced in 1997 along with his mother's " Dizzy Gillespie Tribute " CD " Con Alma ", composed by Kenny Barron, Paquito D' Rivera, Claudio Roditi, Rufus Reid and Frank Wess. At twenty, he signed his first songwriting contract with the PolyGram Music Publishing GmbH in Hamburg. For the Saturday night show Understand fun? Frank Elstner 2001 he composed the new theme music, making him at age 23 became the youngest composer to a Saturday night show in Germany. Shortly thereafter he created with the gospel song "Hope" the new sat.1 AIDS gala " Night of the Stars 2001 " anthem, which he also presented live with the likes of Sting, Mariah Carey, Mick Jagger and Lenny Kravitz.

International projects supervised Rafat partner with studios in London and Santa Monica / Los Angeles. With its Soul, Funk & Disco Band " Darius Rafat & Friends " he is booked with Corporate Sponsorship & Events for many years.

He often acts as an agent and creative consultant for companies and brands in sponsorship, promotion, Advertising, Brand Communication and Brand Partnerships. Darius Rafat is the founder and CEO of the international music agency and production company Fat Music, with offices in London, Los Angeles and Berlin. As a TV presenter Darius Rafat worked for RTL 2 music TV shows such as, inter alia, "The Dome ", " Apres Ski Hits", " Mallorca Hits", " The Ultimate Clip Show ", as well as for the daily children's program " Pokito TV". Darius Rafat lives and works in London and is married to a fashion manager.
